Katharine Hope McPhee Foster [1] (born March 25, 1984[5]) is an American vocalizer-songwriter and extra. In May 2006, she was the runner-up on the 5th flavour of American Idol.

On April 9, 2015, McPhee posted a photo on Instagram, teasing almost the upcoming music video of the beginning single from her fourth album.[97] "Lick My Lips", written by Florence and the Machine member Isabella Summers,[98] was released on May 26.[99] The track listing of Hysteria has been revealed with one song written past Ryan Tedder and another vocal written by Sia Furler.[100] On August 14, "Stranger than Fiction", a song co-written by Ryan Tedder and McPhee, was released.[101] On Baronial 28, "Dear Strikes" was released on iTunes.[ citation needed ] Hysteria, McPhee's fourth studio anthology was released as scheduled on September eighteen, 2015.[102]

On Dec 6, Katharine performed "You Make Me Feel And so Young" and with John Legend on "Yous and Me (We Wanted It All)" on the Sinatra 100: An All-Star Grammy Concert.[103]

McPhee returned to American Idol on March 24, 2016, and performed "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".[104] [105] She returned for the fifteenth flavour finale on April vii, where she performed a short version of "Need You Now" with Casey James as office of an acoustic medley.[106]

McPhee appeared on Lip Sync Boxing on Apr vii, 2016, where she performed against Jason Derulo and won.[107]

On September xviii, 2015, McPhee independently released her fourth anthology, Hysteria, composed of pop originals.[nine]

In Dec 2016, McPhee performed as the opening act at several stops on Andrea Bocelli's bout.[108]

On Feb 12, 2017, McPhee was a presenter with The Chainsmokers at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.[109]

On April 16, 2017, CBS broadcast the concert Stayin' Alive: A Grammy's Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees, where McPhee performed "Emotion".[110] [111]

In June 2017, McPhee began filming the independent pic Louisiana Cavier in New Orleans.[112]

2017–present: I Fall in Love Too Easily and Waitress [edit]

On November four, 2017, McPhee starred in the Lifetime TV movie The Lost Married woman of Robert Durst in the role of Robert Durst'south first wife Kathie.[113] [114]

I Fall in Love Too Easily, a collection of romantic standards, was released on November 17, 2017, via BMG. The starting time single, "Night and 24-hour interval", was fabricated available for free via streaming.[115]

McPhee took over the lead female part of Jenna in Waitress equally her Broadway debut. She began performances on Apr 10, 2018, and played the part through August xix, 2018.[116] [117]

On May eleven, 2018, the song "Living in the Moment" was released.[118] Carole Bayer Sager shared in a Twitter post that information technology was written by her, Jay Landers and Walter Afanasieff as the theme for the motion-picture show Book Social club. [119]

McPhee played the lead role Jenna again in Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre in London'due south West End in March through June 2019.[120] She returned to the Broadway product on November 25, 2019, and remained with the show until its final performance on Jan five, 2020.[121] In 2021, she plays Bailey in Country Comfort.

Also in 2021, Katharine McPhee and David Foster competed in flavor six of The Masked Singer as "Banana Split" where McPhee did the ice cream half that did all the singing and Foster did the banana one-half that did the instrument playing and conducting. They were eliminated in the Group B Finale.[122]

Personal life [edit]

After dating for three years, on February 2, 2008, McPhee married Nick Cokas at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church building.[123] In October 2013, she was photographed publicly kissing her married Boom managing director, Michael Morris.[124] [125] [126] On May 22, 2014, McPhee filed for divorce from Cokas, afterwards "having been separated for the past twelvemonth".[127] Her divorce from Cokas was finalized on February viii, 2016.[128]

McPhee dated her Scorpion co-star Elyes Gabel for almost 2 years. They split in 2016.[129]

She became engaged to record producer David Foster in June 2018.[130] They married a yr afterward on June 28, 2019, at the St. Yeghiche Armenian Apostolic Church in Kensington, London.[131] She gave birth to a son named Rennie David Foster on February 22, 2021.[132] [133] On Katherine Schwarzenegger'southward show she explained about "psychological" problems with her body when pregnant with her son Rennie.[134]
